Valbona Zeneli

Nonresident Senior Fellow, Europe Center, Atlantic Council

Dr. Valbona Zeneli is a nonresident senior fellow at the Atlantic Council of the United States both at the Europe Center and Transatlantic Security Initiative at the Scowcroft Center. She is also a senior fellow at Friends of Europe in Brussels, an associate fellow at DGAP, and a visiting fellow at the European University Institute in Florence. She also serves on the Advisory Board of Decode39. From 2011 to 2023, she was a professor of national security studies and chair of strategic engagement at the George C. Marshall European Center for Security Studies.
She specializes in transatlantic relations, geo-economics, strategic competition, and EU enlargement, and has published widely. Zeneli is a frequent lecturer at institutions including the NATO School, U.S. Department of State, and European defense academies. She has held fellowships at the Institute for Human Sciences in Vienna and Harvard University’s Minda de Gunzburg Center for European Studies.
