Nataša Mikuš Žigman (born 16 July 1971) is the Minister of Regional Development and European Union Funds (2025–present). From 2023 to 2025 she served as Director of the Business Sustainability and Green Transformation Division at Podravka d.d. She previously held the position of State Secretary at the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development (2020–2022) and at the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Crafts (2016–2020). Between 2012 and 2016 she was Director/Deputy Director of the Central Finance and Contracting Agency for EU Programmes and Projects, and from 2005 to 2011 she worked as Deputy State Secretary at the Central State Office for Development Strategy and Coordination of EU Funds. In 2005 she was a Business Development Manager at the British Council. From 2000 to 2005 she worked at the Ministry of European Integration (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration) as a Senior Associate and later Head of the Department for National Programmes. Earlier in her career she was Assistant Head of Office at BCEOM – Société Française d’Ingénierie (1997–1999) and worked as a Translator and Interpreter for the Croatian support mission to the European Community Monitoring Mission (ECMM) (1994–1996).
She earned a university specialist degree in EU Economics from the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Zagreb (2009–2012). She holds an MA in Contemporary European Studies from the Sussex European Institute in Brighton, United Kingdom (1999–2000), as a scholarship recipient of the Croatian Government. She graduated from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Zagreb (1990–1998) as a teacher/professor of German and English language and literature, and completed a study stay at the University of Tübingen as a scholarship recipient of the German Government.
She speaks English and German and has basic knowledge of French. Her additional experience includes leading the working group for Chapter 22 of Croatia’s EU accession negotiations (Regional Policy and Coordination of Structural Instruments), coordinating the preparation of strategic documents for the use of EU pre-accession and structural funds, and contributing to the establishment of the institutional system for managing pre-accession programmes in Croatia. Her hobbies include running and Pilates.
